how its done

1. Floor Preparation

- Hammer down any protruding nail heads before commencing sanding.

2. Sanding Process

- Using abrasives which attach to the floor sanding machinery, progress through a series of different grade abrasives, starting from a coarse grit and finishing with a fine grit.

- After each abrasive has been used with the upright sander, repeat the same process with the same grit abrasive with the edging machine and corner sander.

- Make sure the final sand is really smooth so that you get a perfect smooth finish on your finished floor!

3. Finishing

- Gap filling - Mix the finer sanding dust with resin to form a paste. Paste between boards to fill gaps and sand off the residue.

- Protecting the floor - Your floor needs to be protected to prevent stains. Use either a lacquer (varnish) or oil, (giving the floor a light sand between application of coats if using lacquer)

- Final coat usually takes a few hours to dry
